January 2019

Jazz and Gus babies at 3 weeks.

Jazz is such a good mum these babies are piling on the weight now.  They are still reluctant to come out of their nest, but we expect they will be running around before much longer.  All of these babies are optioned.

Kitten update

Jazz is proving to be a really attentive mother, and these babies are growing into fat little piggies!

We are now fairly certain that we have FOUR boys and TWO girls.  Three red silver tabby with white boys, and one silver tabby with white boy, and two silver tabby with white girls.  All kittens have been optioned to very patient people on our kitten list who have been waiting.  Those who were unlucky have been moved onto the list for the next litter.  We dont have any news of who will be our next litter, as yet, but will post here once we know.

In the meantime, here are the kittens today, at two weeks.  Four are OPTIONED, but one of the boys, is still available.  If interested, please contact me.  Preference will be given to people already on my waiting list, but it is still worth getting in touch to express interest.

Our new girls... Peggy and Penny

Mabalakat Peggy (tortie smoke and white) is out of Pascali and Walter.  She is a beautiful girl with masses of charm and individuality.  She has been shown a couple of times, and has been 1st and Best of Breed every time so far, with one Best Section 2 Kitten in show (at 14 weeks!).  Judges seem to really like her confident and friendly nature.

Mabalakat Penny (Red classic tabby with white) is out of Izzy and George.  She too has done well in shows.  As she is now 8 months old, we will wait until she is adult before showing her again.  Hopefully both will go on to have kittens later on.

Menemsha (GR CH Mabalakat Menemsha-Bay)

As Menemsha is looking so lovely at the moment, we took a photo.  Sadly, at 4 years she has only produced one (rather lovely) litter.  She just doesnt call very often, but we have a handsome boy lined up for when she does!  Hopefully it will be this year.

January Show results

We took Satchmo and Peggy to the Capital and Eastern double show on Saturday 5th.  The kitten did really well, with first and Best of Breed in each show, and firsts in nearly all of her side classes too!  She is only 6 months and taking it all in her stride.  Satchmo however in large strong classes was awarded Imperial in one show and Reserve Imperial in the other!  This means he had his all-important fifth Imperial certificate, and GCCF have since confirmed that he is now IMPERIAL GRAND PREMIER Mabalakat Satchmo.  Absolutely over the moon, as he is my special baby.  He finds the travel difficult, and isnt even two years yet, so we will be giving him some time off from showing for a while, to allow him time to mature before attempting the Olympian classes!

Didnt take any photos at the show, but here are both of them, taken today.

Spot on due date Jazz yesterday delivered us six beautiful babies.  Not sexed or weighed as yet, and very early days, but looks to be three red silver tabby and white males, and three silver tabby and white that could be either sex.

The first couple of weeks are always risky, so I will not be making any of these available as yet (and need time to make sure of colours and sexes) but those on my waiting list are welcome to contact me to confirm their interest, which will be noted.

Photos will follow later.
