Menemsha’s kittens are now 8 weeks old.

Both optioned.

Menemsha’s babies are now 6 weeks, and will shortly be moving into the kitten room, where we will hopefully get better pictures of them. The last of Izzy’s babies leaves us today for her new life, and Poppy will be shortly be moving into the bedroom to await her new arrivals (due around June 26th). Poppy and George always give us such stunning babies that we are awaiting the arrival with excitement (and keeping fingers crossed for a beautiful silver tabby boy this time – the one colour this mating has yet to give us).
Here are Menemsha’s babies (and mum). The two boys are optioned, the girl is still under assessment and may well stay.
Menemsha gave birth on May 2nd, and sadly one kitten didnt make it. But these three are rapidly turning into little barrels. Mum is VERY protective, so we had to quickly pop in and use the flash. They are 10 days old in the photos. The red tabby boy and the brown tabby boy are both reserved. The tortie girl is under assessment, and will possibly stay here with us.
First vaccination and health check no. 1 over, the kittens have now met their new mums and dads and have their own names.
After keeping us waiting Menemsha today had a litter of lovely babies. Despite having grown to the size of a basketball, there were only 4 kittens, and, sadly, one boy didnt make it.
We have a brown tabby boy, a red tabby boy, and a tortie tabby and white girl. Photos will follow next week as they develop.
We already have a long waiting list for these kittens, and the girl will not be made available for some time, as we wish to assess her with a view to her staying here with her mum.
We have just done a repeat mating of Poppy and George, and hopefully will have kittens again in early July. Once we are sure, we will post on here when they are due.
Kittens are now 8 weeks old, and now they are on solids, are piling on the weight.
No new litter news as yet, though – Menemsha is due sometime this week, but is currently keeping us geussing when her kittens will make an appearance. Will update on here once we know they are here and safe.
We entered four cats into the double show at Huntingdon on Saturday. The two new kittens went mainly to give them experience of the whole show scene. This was their second show, and Rosie (Alisika Pascali) who is out of our own bred Mabalakat Columbia Falls, and Lucifern Lalique both did well, each entered in only one of the shows to avoid over-handling at this stage. Both came 2nd to much older girls which we are happy with at this stage, and will await the publication of the judge’s reports on them with interest.
But our two adults were complete stars! Both were awarded TWO Imperial Certificates, and now are each Imperial Grand Champions. Not bad going for a mother and son, and on the son’s second birthday too! Both will now take a break for a while, Walter to mature more before going for the top award of Olympian, whilst Poppy will hopefully have kittens later in the summer.
Poppy also gained Best of Breed in both shows, whilst Walter was awarded Best of Breed in one show.
Walter’s sister, (from a previous litter) Menemsha is due to have kittens sometime this week as well, and we will post on here when her babies arrive.
We are a bit late in updating but here are the photos from last Tuesday, when kittens were 7 weeks old. All are excellent weights, eating well, and no accidents in litter training we are pleased to say.
Izzy and her kittens are well settled in the kitten room now.
